History Timeline
CityU Veterinary Medical Centre (CityU VMC), formerly known as CityU Peace Avenue Veterinary Clinic (CityU PAVC) and Peace Avenue Veterinary Clinic (PAVC), has been offering comprehensive veterinary services for small animals in Hong Kong. We are a full-service veterinary practice providing both primary and specialist veterinary services, as well as providing on-site veterinary emergency care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
We have been designated a training centre by the Hong Kong Vet Surgeons Board (HKVSB). This allows VMC (previously PAVC) to mentor newly graduated vets wishing to register in Hong Kong.
The MRI centre was opened and the first MRI machine for pets in Hong Kong was installed in this premise. The MRI centre also provided 24-hour specialist emergency outpatient, surgery, hospitalization and intensive care services.
The 18,000 square feet new premise, a fully equipped clinic situated on Liberty Road in the Homantin area in Kowloon, was opened with facilities comparable to that of the best veterinary hospital in the world.
City University of Hong Kong (CityU) acquired full ownership of PAVC, and the centre was renamed as CityU PAVC.
In April 2019 CityU PAVC was relocated to Trinity Towers in Sham Shui Po and renamed as CityU Veterinary Medical Centre (CityU VMC). Consisting of 3 floors with a total area of about 33,000 square feet, CityU VMC becomes one of the largest veterinary centre in Southeast Asia.
CityU VMC is equipped with 22 consultation rooms, 9 dedicated operating theatres, a dedicated intensive care unit (ICU) manned by emergency and critical care specialists for animals, a cardiology suite, and a separate access to 24/7 emergency services, which are manned by dedicated ER vets. The new facilities and services offer optimal veterinary care and a more comfortable environment for clients and animals. This new centre is poised to lead high quality clinical care for animals in Hong Kong by offering the latest diagnostic and treatment options for disease management.
CityU VMC has also been dedicated to various community giveback programs, including collaboration with Caritas’ Gato Home project to provide free veterinary care to cats participating in the project’s animal assisted therapy activities, participation in “Make-A-Wish HK” event and support for SPCA’s Spay Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) Voucher Scheme.
