As a neurosurgeon with a passion for helping pets, Dr. Rodolfo CAPPELLO has dedicated his career to advancing the field of veterinary neurology over decades. He obtained a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Milan. He continued to specialise in Veterinary Neurology at The Royal Veterinary College in London (RVC), where he also earned a Professional Doctorate in Intervertebral Disc Metabolism and Degeneration.
After completing his studies, Dr. CAPPELLO became a lecturer in Veterinary Neurology at the RVC, teaching students and training specialists in the field until 2007. He then joined North Down Specialist Referrals in Surrey, United Kingdom in 2008, where he built the neurology service into one of the most highly regarded in the country. During this capacity, he developed advanced techniques in imaging, surgery, and treatments for a wide range of neurological diseases in cats and dogs.
Dr. CAPPELLO’s interests in veterinary neurology are diverse, ranging from routine spinal procedures to more complex interventions for brain neoplasia, inflammation, and degenerative diseases. He approaches each case as a unique challenge, using his expertise to provide the best possible care and outcome for each patient. His commitment to learning and growth is an essential part of who he is, and he always seeks new ways to expand his knowledge and skills in the field of veterinary neurology.
Dr. CAPPELLO is excited to bring his experience and knowledge to CityU Veterinary Medical Centre, pets, and their owners in Hong Kong, where he will work alongside Dr. Diane LU and CityU VMC veterinary team. Outside of work, he enjoys a range of activities, including cycling, scuba diving, spending time with his family and cooking.
