Dr. Forster advocates for evidence-based surgical standards through her strong dedication to clinical excellence and professional education. Her leadership in shaping the ECVS (European College of Veterinary Surgeons) examination frameworks helps mold the veterinarians of tomorrow. Currently, she serves as the Small Animal Surgery Specialist at CityU Veterinary Medical Centre in Hong Kong, where she advances clinical innovation and mentors the next generation of veterinary surgeons.

Clinical Expertise

Board-certified soft tissue surgeon with 15+ years in high-volume referral practice, including work at Davies Veterinary Specialists (UK), University of Cambridge (UK) and University of Edinburgh (UK). Internationally recognized and specialises in  complex procedures:

  • Maxillofacial (bones of the face and orbit) oncologic (cancer) reconstructions
  • Cleft palate repairs
  • Thoracic trauma management
  • Tumour (cancer) resections (head and neck, liver, kidney, intestines, heart, lungs)
  • Kidney surgery and bladder surgery, including stones in the ureter and bladder

Academic Leadership

  • Clinical Trainer: Surgical residencies at University of Cambridge and University of Edinburgh (2020–present)
  • ECVS Examiner & Committee Member: Oversees European Board-certification standards
  • CPD Developer: 7+ years designing continuing education programs for Improve International

In her free time, Dr. Kate enjoys venturing into the countryside and is very excited to explore the country parks of Hong Kong. She is also eager to continue learning Spanish, as well as traveling and discovering more of Asia.
