Dr. Joyce is originally from Hong Kong and has always loved animals. She graduated from the University of Sydney in 2013. She started her veterinary career in general practice and emergency practice in Canberra, Australia.

She then relocated to Sydney and completed a rotating internship followed by a medicine internship at Small Animal Specialist Hospital. During this time, she was awarded her memberships from the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in small animal medicine in 2017. Joyce further completed a three-year residency program in Small Animal Medicine in early 2021 and continued to work at SASH as an internal medicine registrar with the goal of sitting her fellowship exams in 2022. Joyce’s main research interest is feline hyperthyroidism. Joyce enjoys all aspects of internal medicine in particular haematology, immune-mediated disease, and gastrointestinal disease.

Joyce has a cheeky tabby cat called Benji who came with her when she moved back to Hong Kong from Australia.
