Emergency Veterinarian

BVSc (Hons 1), MANZCVS (Small Animal Medicine)

Dr. Betty Liem graduated from the University of Sydney with first class honours in 2010. She spent a few years working in small animal general practices in Sydney before she became an emergency and critical care vet at Small Animal Specialist Hospital in Sydney Australia, where she became interested in this field. In 2015, Dr. Betty obtained her membership with the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in Small Animal Medicine by examination, and after that she moved back to Hong Kong and worked at a second opinion clinic where she continued her journey in managing challenging cases and treating critical patients.

She has completed post-graduate courses in fracture management, emergency surgery, cardiorespiratory medicine, abdominal ultrasound and small animal medicine in the recent years and she is devoted to provide the best quality treatment and care to her patients. She has also presented at veterinary conferences and published in both American and Australian veterinary journals. Dr. Betty is excited to join CityU VMC, having the opportunities to work along with world class veterinary specialists and other dedicated veterinarians who have true passion in the animal industry.

Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, fishing, spending time with her family and cuddling her domestic shorthaired cat Mellow.
